KS1 History
Taught sessions for KS1 History:
- cost £3.00 per pupil (Minimum group charge of £66.00*)
- are led by a Museum Education Officer
- last 1 hour
- include hands-on practical activities
- are closely linked to the National Curriculum
- can be booked for classes of up to 36 children (some exceptions)
- include a Teachers' Pack with more information and resources
(*There is no minimum group charge for special needs groups.)

Washday KS1
What was washday like in the past? The children, dressed in period costume, will use real and replica artefacts to recreate a Victorian washday. Hi/2b, 4a, 4b, 6a, 6b.

The History Mystery KS1
A box of mystery objects - what are they? Children handle, discuss and draw artefacts from the Museum’s collections relating to everyday life in the past. The session is held in the Collections Centre and includes a visit into the museum stores. (Max. 30 children.) Hi/2b, 4a, 4b, 6a, 6b
Session available every weekday during school term time.
Neil Armstrong: Mission to the Moon KS1
Join us in our Planetarium to learn about Neil and how he became the first man to set foot on the Moon. Includes a presentation on the stars of night sky and planets of the solar system. (Max. 30 including adults.) Hi 5c, Sc4/3a.
Session available every weekday during school term time.
Please note that the sections of the Air and Space Hall on the first floor balcony relating to space exploration and science fiction have now been closed pending redevelopment.
