Ancoats: Manchester's Little Italy

8 February until 25 January 2008

Whit Walks

To celebrate the completion of our Histories Revealed oral history project, this fascinating exhibition focuses on Ancoats, an area once populated by large numbers of Italian immigrants and the birthplace of the modern day North West ice cream industry. This exhibition will explore the experiences of Manchester's Italian population and their contribution to the city as we know it today.

We are delighted to be working with Manchester Italian Association to prepare this exhibition. Ladies in Whit Walk 1972, in traditional dress
